Kate discovered mountain biking in Portugal and at the same time met her future husband and AQR side kick Ian Potter. Before then Kate grew up on the Northern Beaches in Australia and was a teacher by day, personal trainer by night and on the weekend enjoyed running along the beaches or on the local bush trails. With Ian's mountain bike skills coaching and patience Kate became a professional mountain bike racer specialising in ultra endurance, marathon and cross country disciplines. Kate represented Australia at the 2009 and 2010 World Championships and was sponsored by Cotic Bikes...which she continues to ride to this day. Kate has also worked as a guide in the UK, Portugal, Spain, throughout France, Greece and the Ionian Islands. Kate decided to retire from racing to pursue further studies in Nutritional Therapy and Sports Nutrition and concentrate on developing AQR Coaching. When not supporting Ian with guiding duties Kate is in charge of AQR administration and also operates the coaching and nutritional therapy side of the business. Kate has also recently received her Certificate of Teacher Training from the World Yoga Alliance and will be offering classes in Luchon to all AQR Holiday guests. When required Kate will assist Ian in the guiding department, and on certain rides will be on call with vehicle support.
Kate loves sunny rides, exploring and testing Ian's mechanical skills!
