AQR have chosen accommodation to suit the biking holiday needs of all their guests. Alte Hotel is a three star hotel on the outskirts of Alte. The hotel is surrounded by rolling hills and regarded as one of the most beautiful villages in the Serra do Caldeirao, in the Algarve’s hinterland. The hotel overlooks the valleys of the Algarve’s coastline where in the evening you will be treated to magnificent orange sunsets as the sun disappears into the sea.
AQR chose Alte Hotel because of it’s versatility as an AQR mountain bike resort plus all the extra holiday treats that come along with it. At Alte Hotel you will find –
AQR BIKE STORAGE AND SERVICE AREA – AQR use the hotel conference room as their secure bike storage area where there is a huge amount of space to re-create a fully kitted out bike work shop. Inside the conference room you will find –
BIKE STANDS...a place for you to leave your bike over night.
BIKE MECHANIC STAND...a portable stand to make bike repairs more comfortable.
TOOL CHEST...with all the tools you need for most repairs. WASHING AREA...a hose and drying area outside the conference room.
WASHING EXTRAS...AQR supply different type brushes and cloths for bike cleaning.
TOILET/BATHROOM...so you don’t have to run back to your room 2 minutes before the ride commences
TABLES & CHAIRS...if you want to sit back and watch Ian fix your bike
RESTAURANT – There is a large restaurant where breakfast and evening meals will be served.
BUFFET BREAKFAST – Breakfast is served from 7:30am where you will find a huge selection of food and drink to choose from....

FOUR COURSE EVENING MEAL – Dinner is served from 7:30pm with some menu options below...
APPERITIF – Selection of bread, olives, garlic carrots, prawns.
ENTREE – Vegetable soup, tomato salad, melon and ham.
MAIN – A seafood and meat option every night, plus a vegetarian option....all meals served with vegetables/salad, chips or potato, rice or pasta.
DESSERT – Selection of cakes and classic Algarve treats to choose from, some favourites included...
BAR – There is a bar to the side of the restaurant that serves most drinks, including a local favourite...Portuguese ‘Firewater’.
BEDROOMS – There are 28 spacious ensuite rooms at the hotel. All rooms have a balcony with table and chairs. There is also a television and phone in each room. A small fridge can be included in your room at a small cost.
HOTEL CLEANING SERVICE – Every day your room and bathroom will be cleaned and fresh towels laid out.
HOTEL SURROUNDINGS – The hotel has a large pool and sun baking area, plus gardens and large balconies to relax in. Behind the hotel you will find a tennis court, volley ball court and hand ball court, as well table and chairs within the hotel gardens that are shaded from the sun. At the front of the hotel there is an outside dining and bar area with glorious views down to the coast line.
GAMES ROOM – There are two large games rooms with television, pool table and card tables.
INTERNET – Internet is available at the hotel at a cost, but there is free wifi at the main village cafe we visit each day that can be accessed at all times.
RECEPTION – A 24hr reception with very friendly and helpful staff.
