Need I say more, so here are some photos and feedback from just a few of AQR's guests out here in Portugal for guiding and coaching in 2012 -
AQR PORTUGAL MARCH 2012 Kate, Ian,
Hi Kate Last week completely blew me away. I am so impressed with the AQR approach and also how hard you all worked to make sure I got everything possible out of the trip. I've learnt loads and come back with tonnes of new ideas and inspiration. I was also so grateful that, just when it was all feeling quite scary, difficult and frustrating, Ian said all the right things to stop me bursting into tears and get me back on my bike. So thanks for that.
Hi Kate, Ian & Anne,
Thanks for the very enjoyable and eye opening week I had with you guys. It's the first time I've ever done an organised bike ride holiday / coaching session. I'm sure I'll be back to join you on other weeks in the future.
I was a little apprehensive about being a non-competative cyclist (if that really exists!) joining a racing bunch. I couldn't have hoped for a more down to earth and genuinely helpful group all round (Both AQR and guests). I think your format works really well as you can choose to take as much as you like out of the information without any form of pressure from yourselves. Your talk on training the body to utilise food groups was very interesting. Ian's talk on tyres was also a genuine highlight. Anne's logic and explanation to remedy common problems was inspired. Thanks again, Stu
Hi Kate, Thank you Kate, Ian & Anne for an absolutely fantastic coaching week, including the provision of plenty of sunshine. The seminars you all gave were really informative, the coaching & sessioning of trail features helped to nail home the basic techniques required for all levels of mtbing & the entertainment was second to none! All this definitely helped my race on the return to the UK where I was able to put into practice on the race course the skills I'd learnt in Portugal. I really hope to be able to make the trip to Portugal again as it's a great top up to winter. Emma

JANUARYAQR COACHING UK Ian Potter has been back in the UK skills coaching for the last 2 weeks...
"The skills session with Ian rates as one of the best investments I've ever made in terms of improving my cycling performance. His wealth of personal knowledge and experience, coupled with his relaxed coaching style meant that I learnt an immense amount in a relatively short space of time. As well as the bike handling skills, the opportunity to discuss bike set-up, race tactics and training tips was an unexpected bonus. I'd thoroughly recommend a session with Ian, whether you're new to MTB-ing or think you've got nothing left to learn!" There is one coaching session left on Sunday 22 January from 12:30-3:30 if anyone would like a last minute coaching session before Ian heads back to France. Alternatively Ian will be back in the UK from April 17-26 if you would like a skills session with Ian during this time.

NOVEMBER 2010November 4, NEWS FLASH....AQR's 'A QUALITY RIDE COACHING' are pleased to be able to support those of you out there with future fitness or racing goals, or simply to help you achieve that biking challenge you have wanted to do, but never thought you could. In 2010 we helped one lovely lady Anne who went on to achieve national and world success in a 24hr solo. Anne sent a lovely letter to AQR yesterday.... Dear Kate and Ian, I wanted to put some thought into your "thank you" letter because I struggle to express how grateful I am for everything you did for me. I still can't believe I competed in a World Championship race and did ok! I came away feeling that I really couldn't have done any better than 4th. Injuring my kneecap and having only six weeks to prepare was a challenge, and one which other people had refused to take on. Ian and Kate, your passionate belief that in 6 weeks I could do a lot spurred me into a place of 'I can' rather than 'I can't'. I spent the last 6 weeks believing I could do it, perfecting my 'dynamic core' work and riding my bike positively with your voices in my head. There were several things which you and Ian did which took the Worlds from my impossible dream to a reality. I came to AQR for help as I realised that my total hours riding rocks before Luchon didn't even get into double figures - I was never going to get round the Mt Stromlo course in one piece. I spent my week in Luchon watching, learning and taking on board all your advice. I came out to gain confidence on rocks never dreaming how much else I would gain. Ian generously took me through the ins and outs of riding Stromlo and riding efficiently - invaluable personal advice which I kept to by the letter. Your generosity in time and knowledge and motivation was compounded by generously lending me the Cotic KP 24. She carried me over everything and she gave me so much confidence. You probably heard that I had a bit of a nighmare with my saddle... One of those learning curve things that shows our lack of experience. Good job my legs and core were strong enough to stand up for hours! I hope you have managed to read some of my blog, I have had lots of people reading it and asking about AQR and Kates training - I have suggested they call you. (Anne's blog is inspirational and well worth a read -http://annedickins24.blogspot.com/ ) Thank you both once again from both of us for your help, belief and enthusiasm (for bikes and competition) which is highly infectious! Anne (and Simon) WELL DONE ANNE YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION!!! Now go and enjoy some ice cream :) OCTOBER 2010October 20, NEWS FLASH....'AQR in the Algarve!!!!' Ian and Kate Potter are returning to Portugal where their love....for mountain biking first came about...ok where KP discovered mountain biking and her future hubby. Anyway AQR will be running 2 weeks in March, with the option of a third week if these two weeks are full. There has been alot of interest already so please contact AQR if you want all the information as it is released. More information and confirmed dates can be found on the 'SPECIAL ADVENTURES' page. Unfortunately for one of our favourite guests they have had to cancel their place on the upcoming Autumn weekend due to injury. This means there is a double room available at the Woodbine B&B that would best suit a couple, but could also be used for a single person as well. AQR's Autumn weekend is taking place in the Peak District on the 5-7 November. Please contact Kate Potter as soon as possible if you are interested in taking this spot. If you don't have time to ride all weekend, but are interested in a day trip then there are still day trip spaces available. Please contact AQR for further details.WHAT'S HAPPENING IN LUCHON....Loving October as the forest turns golden and the trails are all ours to play on....YAY!!!
